Samurai, heading into battle, you swiftly take on the enemy with the Kogane No Senshi Daisho Set at the ready for attacking. This sword set includes two functional swords. There is a katana and a wakizashi. Both swords have curved blades, typical of Japanese swords. Made from folded 1095 high-carbon steel, the blades have a clay-tempered, Honsanmai construction.

A Honsanmai construction is a common Japanese blade construction style. The blades cross section has four sections of steel. There is soft steel at the top center with hard steel below it. On each side of the center, there is a section of medium steel.

The swords continue with blackened iron crossguards, also called tsubas. Then, the hilts have hardwood handles. Golden silk wraps around the black handles in a battle style, or katate-maki. Real black ray skin covers the handles. They feature gold-plated ornaments, called menuki. The other ends of the hilts have blackened iron pommels.

Finally, this sword set comes with black wooden scabbards, called sayas. The scabbards have golden wraps at the tops. The sword set also comes with a certificate of authenticity. You can take this sword set to your next reenactment or add it to your weaponry collection. Includes: Katana, 40.3" overall with 20.1" blade; Wakizashi, 31" overall with 20.88" blade. Hand forged clay tempered folded 1095 Honsanmai carbon steel blade. Hardwood tsuka katatemaki wrapped in golden silk. Gold plated menukis with blackened iron tsuba, kashira, and fuchi.
