"Popeye Captain's Wheel" Popeye Sericel with Official King Features Syndicate Seal. List $350

"Popeye Captain's Wheel" is a framed limited edition sericel with a colored background with Official King Features Syndicate/Popeye Seal. This piece is mounted to matting. Measures approx. 19.5" x 23" (matting); 13" x 16" (image).

Created in 1929 by cartoonist Elzie Crisler Segar, Popeye the Sailor Man is the Classic Underdog with a "long fuse and a keen sense of fair play," who gets his superhero-like strength from eating spinach. Popeye first appeared in Segar's then 10 year old comic strip, "Thimble Theatre", which was based on Olive Oyl's family. Popeye quickly became one of the main characters in "Thimble Theatre", and eventually became the main focus of the comic strip. In 1933, Popeye made the leap to the Silver Screen in a Betty Boop cartoon titled "Popeye the Sailor."

There are around 600 Popeye cartoons that have been produced and are still in syndication worldwide - the strip continues to appear in first-run installments in its Sunday edition, written and drawn by Hy Eisman.

Box addresses may be held until a street address is obtained and will be cancelled if a street address cannot be obtained within a reasonable time. Returning Merchandise/RMA Requests

All requests for returns must be made within 15 days of the item's receipt. You must obtain a valid RMA number from QART before returning your merchandise. To obtain a RMA #, please email your username, the auction listing number, and reason for return to: qart@propertyroom.com
Once approved, customer service will provide you with your RMA number and return instructions. To expedite your return, please print the RMA number on the outside of the return packaging.
