For sale is a nice lot of three original Railroad Model Craftsman magazines from early 1970 (the magazine’s 37th year).
Included Issues:
January 1970 – Dramatic snowplow cover with steam action. Features “Snowplows from A to Z,” Rock Island coach, NYO&W caboose, grist mill project, and more.
February 1970 – Eye-catching cover with a hand placing an HO diesel. Includes “Boomer Trail” in full color, N scale minipike, Pennsy N8 caboose conversion, Canadian RS-18 diesel, and junction depot article.
March 1970 – Stunning color cover photo of a steam train on a scenic curve (Kodachrome by W. Allen McClelland). Highlights Long Island caboose, Santa Fe Duplex Roomette, fan trip car build, farmers market, Virginian & Ohio fan trip, and commuter rapid transit pike.
All three magazines are complete with no missing pages. They show typical age wear for 56-year-old publications: light cover and spine rubbing, some corner wear, and normal paper toning, but bindings are solid and pages are fully readable.
Inside you’ll find detailed modeling articles, prototype information, layout photos, and several nice Pacific Fast Mail (PFM) brass locomotive advertisements (including Southern Pacific Class A3 4-4-2 and Class B Climax logger).
Great addition for collectors of vintage model railroading magazines, HO/N scale enthusiasts, or anyone wanting authentic 1970-era reference material on steam, diesel, structures, and fan trips.
Condition: Good vintage used condition with expected wear. Please examine all photos closely as they are part of the description.
