For sale is a lot of three original Railroad Model Craftsman magazines from late 1970.
Included Issues:
October 1970 – Striking cover featuring an O scale Phase II F-3A diesel (Kodachrome by Tony Koester). Articles include “Brewery in Stone” by Moore, NYC 20th Century OBS plans, 8-Ball Locomotive Works, mini service car, terminal in a wye, and more.
November 1970 – Bold yellow CNR diesel cover. Features “Build a Trackside Shanty,” “Railroad to a Hole in the Ground,” NMRA contest photos, fiber optics, and more.
December 1970 – John Allen’s famous Gorre & Daphetid (G&D) layout cover with “John Allen’s Locomotives.” Includes RMC fan trip on the D&RGW, Western Maryland Weekend, sectional trackplan, Mississippi car ferry, plastics precautions, N scale RS-2, and W.A.G. photo story.
Each magazine has a full-page Pacific Fast Mail (PFM) brass advertisement on the back cover (or inside), including sound systems, Frisco “Russian” 2-10-0, D&RGW K-28 2-8-2, and other United/PFM imports.
All three magazines are complete with no missing pages. They show normal age wear for 55+ year old publications: light spine and cover rubbing, some corner wear, and typical paper toning, but bindings are intact and content is fully readable.
Excellent reference material packed with prototype plans (Union Pacific dome cars, etc.), scratchbuilding projects, layout inspiration, and late-1970 modeling trends.
Condition: Good vintage used condition with expected wear for their age. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description.
