This sterling silver ring features an approximate .65 carat, bezel-set, sugarloaf-cut, genuine amethyst. The approximate 5.75 x5.75mm, deep purple-colored amethyst is firmly set into a square-shaped bezel and is polished The amethyst curves up from the four sides to a point at the top The gemstone and deep bezel setting are held firmly in the center of the ring by chevron-shaped, wide, sterling silver shoulders. The shoulders taper into the shank with a knife-edge surface that continues for the entire circumference of the ring. The ring is very solid and is US size 4.5. A knife-edge shank is a ring band design with a raised, sharp ridge running down the center, creating an angled "V" shape in cross-section. It has a contemporary, architectural, and sleek look that provides strength while appearing thinner and drawing the eye to the center stone. The surfaces are positioned to better reflect light, maximizing its shine. The edge is not so sharp as to cause discomfort to the fingers.
